It's obvious, yet we forget. The same experience can look completely different depending on whether you are tired or rested. Whether your energy levels are high or low. Whether you have a lot on your mind or whether you feel calm inside.

This applies to all our experiences. Even memories. What we experience in the present moment is colored by the state of consciousness we happen to be in. So don't worry if things look a little dark. If you're caught in a storm of stressful thoughts or feel trapped by apathy.

Just notice it. And know that you are not in your "right" mind, right now.

Let it go, give it a little time. It will happen all by itself. Let Nature do its thing and bring your wobble back to center. Soon enough, you will see clearly again. And I promise you that things will look different.

Working with fluid painting is both challenging and wonderfully liberating for a detail freak like me. There is nothing else to do but play, surrender to the flow of the water while guiding it as best as I can in the present moment.

And that's exactly how life is best lived, too. By letting go, holding it lightly, and responding to what shows up in the present moment. We are wired to live that way. We work best when we are present with what is. We can't ever really know or control the future anyway. So be here now. And nevermind the mind, it thinks it needs to think about every little thing, past, present, future. It doesn't know any better. It doesn't know that we'll know.

So let go. You got this. You'll know ✨

Ahhh 💚 Feels so good to be back with the brushe

Ahhh 💚 Feels so good to be back with the brushes, like a big exhale after holidays, family time and life out there. I have the house to myself for 48 hours and I'm taking up aaall the space with no bedtime in sight. My world is only water, pigment and drying time. I do know how lucky I am ✨🙌🎨

Nothing quite like summer in Arendal 💛🌊

Just came back from a couple of weeks with my boys at my parents' house, where the closest family gathered. They live on an island in the archipelago in southern Norway, where I spent most of my childhood. A place that I once fled from in search of broader horizons, but also a place that I always return to with a heart full of gratitude. The amount of nostalgia is pretty apparent 🥹 Being away for so long and having so many beautiful moments has also sparked a lot of inspiration that i can't wait to process into form 🌱
